Our brewed chai offers a bold, rich and authentic flavour that sets it apart from other commercial chai blends.

 

It’s recipe has been guarded by generations of Punjabi families, honed in the hearths and homes of the Indian diaspora in East Africa and perfected at our headquarters in Sydney, Australia.

The Origin of
Afro-Punjabi Chai

Afro-Punjabi Chai is the creation of Ambi Thind.

His chai is a phenomenon that has sparked a growing community of chai lovers from all walks of life.

 

For Ambi, chai has always been more than a beverage.

Having grown up across Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, the UK, and India, chai was the one constant that connected every chapter of his life.

 

As a women’s hockey team coach in Pennant Hills NSW — players of his team began adding their own additions to his brew. With each blend, a new chai was born —

deeply personal, wildly flavourful, and undeniably special.

Today, along with our chai bars, it has sparked the House of Ambi’s a creative home for new chai (& roti!) creations.

 

Under this house, fresh blends like the recently launched Bantu Chai have emerged.

 

Each branch carries the same heart: a celebration of heritage, connection, and flavour

—brewed with intention and made to be shared.
